Buenos dias! Encantada!

A bit about me. I'm an award-winning screenwriter crafting stories from Spain's Costa del Sol, where the sunsets are spectacular and the wifi is... trying its best.

From earning my B.A. in TV Writing at Columbia College Chicago to collecting life experiences that could fill several vision boards—think Second City comedy improv, Meisner Conservatory training in NY and Chicago, and teaching 6th grade in Hawaii—I found my happiest place writing dramedy with heart. The Mediterranean view doesn't hurt.

My scripts feature quippy dialogue, multicultural characters who don't fit in neat boxes (relatable—as an actor, I was told I was simultaneously "not ethnic enough" AND "too ethnic" as a Puerto Rican/Keetoowah Cherokee/Caucasian mix), and the kind of found-family vibes that would make Stars Hollow proud.

2024 was quite a year. I took a pilot script out on the festival circuit and collected eight international festival wins out of nine submissions (with the ninth being an honorable mention in Athens.) I submitted a few scripts to a handful of competitions and picked up awards for each, including the Austin Film Festival. Now I'm channeling that momentum into an Upper MG/YA fantasy novel series adapted from one of my award-winning pilot scripts.

After running a life-coaching-based wellness, GAP program for young adults in Southern Spain for the last four years, we transitioned to just our study abroad program in LeĂ³n, Spain, to achieve a bit more of that Spanish Mañana. And for the Hallmark of it, I’m opening a bilingual bookstore named after the shop in my novel series.

When not typing away at my latest project, you'll find me beachcombing for treasures with my 9-year-old, husband and 2 pups, hunting for the perfect pumpkin spice latte in Europe (spoiler: my father-in-law from Illinois is now the designated canned pumpkin courier), or explaining to bewildered locals why Christmas decorations in October are completely reasonable.
